Over deze training

Smart home devices have become increasingly popular in recent years. This type of technology is starting to be integrated into everyday household items, with the goal of achieving ubiquitous sensorization and full integration between furniture and sensors through the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT). One of the most important concepts in relation to IoT is Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) which refers to the use of advanced sensor technology, communication systems, and intelligent algorithms to create supportive environments that improve the quality of life for people, particularly the elderly or those with disabilities, by enabling them to live independently and safely within their homes. An example of this would be movement monitoring devices that can detect if an occupant has had a fall and send an alert to emergency services or family members.

Cabinet makers and interior builders need to be prepared and familiarize themselves with these technologies, as they will have to integrate them into their products. It is crucial for these professionals to adapt by learning the necessary skills to select, install, and maintain AAL and IoT systems in furniture design and interior spaces.

The current state of knowledge about AAL, targeting the furniture and wood sector in Europe, reveals knowledge gaps at different educational levels (EQF 4, 5, and 6). Therefore, the ALLVIEW project has developed training materials to address these skill gaps with an innovative approach to modernizing vocational education and training:

  • Unit 1: AAL
  • Unit 2: ICT applied to AAL
  • Unit 3: Psychology
  • Unit 4: Design and Ergonomy

Each unit is composed of different slides, pictures, videos, interactive games, external resources and multiple-choice questions to allow you to learn while assessing your knowledge. You can find more details about the topics included in each unit and the links to access training materials below.

Moreover, do not miss the section 'Document Library' which contains additional resources and reports associated with this topic and will allow you to learn even more.

Are you ready to take the plunge toward a more tech-savvy and state-of-the-art furniture and wood industry?
